FAS Findings: Job Changes from 2006-2008

Though the FAS was conducted in 2008, the sample was drawn from 2006 records. The survey offered a glimpse of career transitions between the year of 2006 and the year of 2008.

During this time:

  • 45% of respondents changed their jobs (of those who were located and answered the survey)
  • 68% ( n=54) of respondents who self-identified as postdocs in 2006 were in a postdoc in 2008
  • 19% (n=15) of the 79 respondents who self-identified as postdocs in 2006 were in a tenured track faculty position in 2008
